She inhaled shakily and pretended everything was alright; she was home, she was happy, she was safe. But every time she blinked, the warming mirage would dissipate before her very eyes and in its place, a monster called fear chained her to its wake.

She wasn't too sure where she was. Not too long ago, she awoke to this unusual pitch black darkness and it sure wasn't her bed.

"Hello...?"

Nobody answered her lonely query and her voice echoed right back at her, rattling her dimpleless complexion. The room smelled oddly like an old garage and where she sat was as cold as ice. It must've been an animal cage as she meticulously made out metal bars. Wherever she was, she wanted out of it immediately and whoever's sick idea this was, she resented them for it.

"Bozo. I have returned."

Ack! The lights flickered back on and in stepped a very tall figure, dark, muscular, and sinister-looking. Its voice was deeper than any voice she's ever heard of. In the back of her mind, came a haunting realization... She was held captive by a human.

Screaming, she pleaded for help and flailed her legs helplessly in the cage that kept her in place.

"Be quiet, Bozo!!"

The man hit her cage with a spiked club that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. The metal bars resonated loudly and she went temporarily deaf. She closed her eyes tightly and covered her face with both of her legs. This wasn't happening. Humans were a myth. At least... That's what her mother had always told her. "Humans are gentle creatures that only exist in fairy tales". Thanks, mom. She scowled silently. Now I know the real truth.

"Bozo..."

That twisted voice again made her wince. She stood up and bolted to the edge of the cage, nearly knocking the whole thing over from the inside.

"My name isn't Bozo, bozo! My name is Golf Ball!"

"Ha... Ha... Ha... Bozo..."

Each laugh was dragged and ominous. Then he reached down and petted her curtly on the head. She gasped and retracted sharply. How disgusting! She wasn't anyone's familiar nor will she ever be! Golf Ball searched the cage desperately for a door but to no avail. The man had the keys to her final escape.

How did this even happen? Golf Ball frantically tried to recall. "Good night," said her mother with a lingering kiss as she always did. And then she woke up in a cage meant for critters. Was this a dream? Or was this the cruel reality that she unfortunately had to face?

"Hey, Bozo!!"

The cage suddenly shook again and Golf Ball hit her head on the metal bars. Clink! Went the cage as it resonated against Golf Ball who squeaked loudly in pain.

"Let's play a game."

"What game?" The young lass asked, the excitement long drained from her voice. This was already too much for her to handle and she felt herself flickering in and out of consciousness as she awaited his dreaded reply.

"Hide and seek." The man smirked and chuckled maniacally. "And I'm it, Bozo."

A faint lightbulb went off in her mind. Was this her calling? Was this finally her chance to escape? It had only been a few minutes since she's awoken in this strange place and she already wanted her ticket home.

"Ok," she agreed. "But first... Lemme out."

The man bent down and unlocked the cage, his spiked club scratching the tile floor from his belt. Screech! Went the cage door as it slowly opened. The man stood up and moved aside, his feet scraping and shuffling against the ground. Golf Ball walked out of the cage and looked up at the human who towered over her mercilessly.

"Have fun trying to find me!" She jeered. Then she darted out of the room as fast as her tiny legs could carry her. Where to go? Where to run? She wasn't even sure herself. Every dark room led to another and they all looked almost identical. Dim lights from the windows poured into the room to reveal delicate things on display; things most likely meant for the public to admire. So that's where she was... She was in a museum.

"Bozo, I am going to find you."

She heard the man's deep voice echo from across the museum building. Oh no, oh no. She suddenly bumped into a wall; a dead end. At the most convenient time too! Oh, why must this be so difficult?

Beside her stood five very huge vases, each filled with a colorful assortment of flowers and she swiftly hid behind the one in the middle. Though it was no use hiding from him anyway. He was going to find her and she was going to have to endure the consequences.

"Where are you, Bozo? You need punishment. You can't hide forever, Bozo."

The man whacked her hiding spot with his spiked club over and over again. Each hit caused the vase in front of her to crack and shatter, pieces of it scattering onto the floor below. She wanted to run but she was far too scared. Home and family felt like a distant memory now and she'd probably have to spend the rest of her pitiful life being this sick man's... Pet!

"I found you, Bozo."

Alas the vase ceased to the spiked club and tumbled recklessly to the ground. The flowers that were contained in it flopped over and forcefully decorated the tile floor. She was fully exposed now and there was nothing she could do about it.

The man reached out a meaty arm to the petrified sphere and briskly snagged her whole. He hugged the tiny object to his chest and caressed her, each of his fingers raking uncomfortably across her forehead.

"Let's go home, Bozo."

You know what time I freaking wrote this at?? 3 AM!! On my bloody iPhone!! I couldn't sleep and this one scene from jacknjellify's newest video kept playing over and over again in my mind. So I decided to write my own depiction of Golf Ball's seemingly traumatizing backstory.

If anyone's wondering what the heck I'm talking about, it's 5:56 on this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Jw0dh…

Anyways like... This was super fun to write and I hope it sounds the least bit decent and creative! X'D

Nice! I liked how your storyline veered into IDFB's canon storyline!
I imagined the figure's voice eerie and monotonous, just like in IDFB!
